The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s annual work zone safety campaign kicks off next week during National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW), April 15-19, 2024.

Work zones present many challenges for trucks and buses—narrow lanes, sudden stops, traffic pattern shifts, and uneven road surfaces require all drivers to stay alert. In fact, large trucks are overrepresented in work zone crashes, making up nearly one-third of fatal work zone crashes. It’s critical that all road users approach work zones with caution and do their part to keep the road safe for everyone.

Use the shareable materials on the FMCSA’s Work Zone Safety Campaign website to help inform CMV drivers and the driving public about the unique safety challenges work zones present.
