Drivers intending to get a new CDL or upgrade their CDL must complete Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) training before they are permitted to take the relevant range knowledge test. The training will cover the requirements under 49 CFR 380 Appendix A & Appendix B.

This seminar will cover the following topics.

  • Basic Operation
  • Safe Operation Procedures
  • Hours of Service (log books)
  • Hiring qualified drivers
  • Drug and alcohol testing
  • DOT Medical exam
  • Vehicle maintenance reports

After completing the course, NHMTA will enter the driver’s information into the Training Provider Registry. The driver can then schedule their CDL skills test.

Books are not required but are highly recommended for review before the skills test.
